Bamboo Slopes is a purpose-driven organization with a presence in both Canada and Mbale, Eastern Uganda. Committed to sustainability, environmental restoration, and community empowerment, our flagship project, Sibona Eco-Resort, sits along a crucial stretch of the Namatso River, a river that sustains local communities but is also prone to severe flooding and erosion. These floods threaten homes, farmland, and livelihoods, increasing the vulnerability of the region’s residents—many of whom depend on subsistence farming and have limited access to stable infrastructure and clean water.

Turning Vision into Action
Our journey began with a vision to revitalize the Namatso River, addressing the urgent need for flood control, reforestation, and clean water access. Through initiatives like riverbank stabilization, indigenous tree planting, and water filtration projects, we have turned our commitment into action.
Now, we are expanding our impact by strengthening surrounding communities through Sibona Eco-Resort, a sustainable funding model, where 30% of net profits are dedicated to these restoration efforts.
